What this notice covers

This notice explains the limited information involved when you visit the YouFiles website, download the Windows installer, or contact support. YouFiles does not require an account.

Website and downloads

The website does not collect information about how individual visitors use it. Download buttons link directly to the installer hosted with the website.

Like any hosted website, our infrastructure providers may process ordinary request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser user agent, requested path, date, and time. We use infrastructure records only for delivery, reliability, and security.

Desktop processing

The current YouFiles release is designed to process selected documents on your Windows PC. Documents and generated files remain on the device and are not uploaded to YouFiles servers. The current release is not designed to send document contents, usage records, or device identifiers to us.

Support communications

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it only to respond, resolve the request, maintain necessary correspondence records, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send confidential documents unless they are necessary for your request.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal information. Information may be handled by service providers that host and protect the website or deliver support email, subject to their service and confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when legally required or when necessary to protect users, the service, or our rights.

Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, record keeping, and legal requirements. Hosting security records are retained according to the applicable provider settings and operational needs.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you. You may also object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
